DIY // FELT TOTE BAG

Felt is such a versatile material that is strong and pretty good looking if you ask me. It is so easy to make things out of because it doesn't fray when it has been cut! I made these bags out of felt! You can make one for yourself in 5 easy steps!

You will Need:

1 x half a meter of thick felt

1 x scissors

1 x button

1 x sewing machine/needle and thread/fabric glue

10 x pins (approx)

Step 1.

Fold the fabric in half long ways and sew a line down the 2 open sides. Leave the top open!

If you don't have a sewing machine, you could definitely use fabric glue or hand stitch it together!

Step 2.

Open the bag. Then, fold it in half so that the seams you previously just sewed are in the middle and the bottom of the bag comes to 2 points - as in the image below.

Pin a line across the bottom of the points and sew along the lines.

Step 3.

Once the line has been sewn, cut off the corner excess material and turn the bag inside out. Push the corners out so that the bottom of the bag is square.

Step 4.

Cut 2 strips of felt off the top of the bag (you should probably do this before you begin sorry haha) and pin them to the outside of the bag wherever you think is good for handles. Then sew two lines - one at the bottom of the strap and one just below where the strap joins the bag (I have drawn lines to show you where in the above image ^^).

Step 5.

Cut a button hole in one side of the bag. And hand sew a button on the other side of the bag, (make sure you sew it on the inside!) AND YOUR DONE!
